Makayla: 6-months

My little niece, Makayla, turned 6-months old last week. She is as chunky as ever and I love it. She also looks just like my brother...throw on a goatee and it's him. She's already starting to scoot and is so close to crawling. Little lady needs to be mobile to keep up with her four siblings!

The "B" Family

Just like in my last post, I have known this family for a long time. Ben (dad) has been one of my brother's best friends since they were in kindergarten. That's thirty years. Impressive, is it not? We had fun and braved the mosquitoes as we ran around this photography hotspot...there were several groups taking pictures that day.

Katie

Katie is turning one at the end of this week! I've known her family for many, many years...her daddy has been one of my brother's best friends since I was a little girl. She was such a ham that we were done in no time.

Huh?

Last night, I sent in an online order for a few prints of photos I took of Ayla and a couple family photos as well that I took last weekend.

Well.

I just received a message from the Walgreens photo center that said the photos look professional so I would need a signed release from the photographer. I took that as a compliment.

I called them back and told them I listened to the message and she said, [insert snotty tone] "Yeah. Those are professional pictures. You'll need permission from the photographer before we can release them to you."

I told her I was the photographer and that they are my photos. She said, [insert snotty tone again] "Well, you'll just have to sign the release then when you come to pick them up."

What?

Soooo, let me get this straight--I have to sign a release (as the photographer) to release the photos back to myself? In other words, I'm giving myself permission to print my own pictures. Seems a little messed up if you ask me. Should be an interesting conversation when I go pick them up today. Personally, I don't think I should have to sign anything...

Ayla Ming: 2-years old

Today is my baby girl's second birthday...where does the time go? We took her out yesterday morning to snap some photos.
