Makayla

My baby niece, Makayla, turned three-months old today. She's already rolling over, holding her head up high, and slowly scooting along. Advanced little lady, isn't she? And from what Mommy and Daddy say, she's still quite the dramatic one (she was an angel while I was there).

We had an impromptu mini-photo shoot. We didn't even bother to take off her giant bib--she's a perpetual spitter-upper so a bib is part of her everyday outfit. :)

Thank you, Megan!

See that awesome header at the top of this blog? My amazingly talented friend, Megan Gilligan, over at inkblot paper designs created it for me. I love it. It's so me. The only "ideas" I gave her were through the words "symmetry" and "circle-y". Very helpful, I know.
And this is what she came up with in no time at all. Like I said, she is amazing.
Thank you so much, Megan! It's perfect!

Hello. My name is Anne and I'm a photograph-a-holic.

For as long as I can remember, I've enjoyed taking pictures. It all started nearly 25 years ago...fresh out of kindergarten, with this:Pretty intense little camera, huh?

My dad liked to drive the family half-way across the country to California when I was a kid and in an attempt to keep me busy in the car (just a few years ago, I was told that I was quite annoying during these roadtrips...stereotypical are-we-almost-there-yet child), I was given this camera and a few rolls of 110 film. From that point on, I had a camera with me for every trip. And years later, when we entered the digital world, my little Canon PowerShot could always be found in my purse just in case there was something worth documenting.
After the little love of my life, Ayla Ming, was born on October 3, 2008, this hobby and love for photography turned into an absolute obsession. I have literally taken thousands of photos of her. My poor computer can hardly handle all the digital files I keep loading onto it.
I have since graduated to this:
I'm lucky enough to have friends and family who allow me to use them as my guinea pigs in order to learn and gain experience. They have grown accustomed to seeing a camera attached to my face and have learned to ignore that fact and to just let me do my thing...because whether they like it or not, I will not be stopping anytime soon.

I will be posting all of my future photographic adventures on this blog...in the meantime, I'll work on moving past ones from my personal blog to this new blog. Stay tuned...

Jenn & Leo

I was supposed to photograph Jenn and Leo last November (I went to high school with Jenn) but it was the same time I came down with that insanely awful sinus infection. They live in Reno so we finally rescheduled and they braved the Nebraska heat and humidity for a few fun hours of picture-taking. Congrats Jenn and Leo on your upcoming wedding (Sunday!)
